Berlin Airlift:
The countries of West Berlin were furious with the Soviet Union's decision to build the Berlin Wall. The United States had people in East Berlin who were in their zones and since the conditions in East Berlin were so bad, the United States had no choice, but to find a solution for the problem. So, they started sending planes, like cargo planes, with supplies in them. Planes would carry medicine, food, water, gasoline, etc. for the people of East Berlin to survive off of.
