Before the Paris Summit Conference happened, there was talk that the United States and the Soviet union might have a chance at coexistence and peace. However, these rumors instantly stopped after the U-2 Spy Plane incident took place. Fifteen days after this incident, the Paris Summit Conference took place and didn't go as the U.S. had planned.
